The first is an immature male purple finch. You can tell he's not a female because he's beginning to get a little color--see the yellow under the tip of his wings.

The other day when the bird bath was frozen till about mid morning, this little pine siskin wanted a drink.

So he worked his way down the hose which fills the tub that the dog drinks from

All the male cardinals are sporting brand new plumage for spring and they look really good!

ReplyDeleteLove your little birdies Bruce. Last year I had 2 pair of White throated and White crowned sparrows, but they didn't show up this year. I was disappointed.
