Finally some decent pictures of the beautiful purple finch. I'd love to get him in a natural setting rather than at a feeder, but at least you can see that wonderful raspberry head! These are taken through a thermal glass door so they are not as sharp as they could be.
While sitting at the computer, I heard a noise in a potted plant behind me. Comet, the Dobe, heard it too and went running outside to see what it might be. I went over to tha plant and saw a long tail hanging out of one of the dried up leaves. An anole!
I watched him for a while as he made his way up the stem to a green leaf. Then the phone rang and when I came back, he was nowhere to be seen. I hope he's finding enough to eat and drink here inside--don't know where or why he came in.
