Today's pictures are only for recording something--certainly not for quality of photography. We've had a pair of purple finches around the feeders for a few days and I've had zero success in getting decent pictures of them. The male is the strongest raspberry color I've ever seen on a purple finch. The female, is blah next to him, but easier to get pictures of naturally. The top picture shows him with a couple of winter gold finches and a chipping sparrow. The second photo is Mrs. Finch.
I haven't been here for a couple of days, so I'll comment on everything under this one. You've posted some really beautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteI used to get Purple Finches at my feeder all the time at my other house, but they don't seem to come around to this one. I hope they stay around for you.
Thanks for looking and commenting, Sandpiper. You are my most loyal viewer. I will keep trying to get a good shot of the male purple finch.
ReplyDeleteNice picture. This was the first year I got good pictures of the Purple Finch at my house. Usually I don't have them mixed in with my House Finches and Goldfinches.
